The Central Community College women’s basketball team defeated the York University JV, 86-68, on Monday night in York.

The Raiders never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 30 points thanks to high-percentage shots. CCC shot 62 percent from the floor, scored 52 points in the paint and dished out 17 assists.

Madisen Jelinek led CCC in scoring with 22 points while Nikie Nelson added 22 points. Morgan Juranek scored 15 points off the bench.

“I thought we came out with some fire right away,” said CCC head coach Kasi Stoltz. “We pressured them with our man defense and got some shots to fall early, which helps with our confidence. We got out in transition again and had some good passes ahead that led to some easy buckets. Overall, it was a good team effort.”

The Raiders are 10-11 on the season heading into Friday’s clash at North Platte Community College. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
