CCC Men’s Basketball Pinnacle Bank Thanksgiving Classic Recap

The Central Community College men’s basketball team split two games at the Pinnacle Bank Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday and Sunday at the Raider Fieldhouse. A recap of both games is below. The Raiders are 8-2 and will take part in the Southeast Community College Holiday Classic on Friday and Saturday in Beatrice. On Friday at 4 p.m., CCC will take on Highland (Kan.) Community College. On Saturday at 2 p.m., the Raiders will battle Allen County (Kan.) Community College.

Game 1 vs. North Iowa Area Community College

An 18-4 CCC run over a four-minute stretch highlighted the first half as the Raiders went on to defeat the Trojans, 91-84. Central held a 41-29 lead at halftime before NIACC cut CCC’s lead to 47-40 at the 14:27 of the second half. With 1:13 remaining, NIACC trailed by two, 84-82, when the Raiders outscored the Trojans, 7-2, and went on to the seven-point win.

Trey Deveaux posted a career-high 34 points while Tredyn Prososki scored 16 points off the bench. Dwight Glover Jr. finished with 11 points while Caleb Muia pulled down 14 rebounds.

“Trey was fantastic,” said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. “He did a great job of finishing plays at the basket all game long and our guards did a really good job of breaking the pressure and finding him.”

Game 2 vs. Iowa Lakes Community College

The Raiders rattled off a 22-7 run to take a 38-22 lead over the Lakers in the first half and went on to lead 42-28 at halftime. In the second half, CCC was leading 61-45 with 8:37 remaining when Iowa Lakes outscored the Raiders, 34-8, the rest of the way to post a 79-68 victory.

Prososki led four CCC players in double figures with 15 points while Deveaux chipped in 13 points. Glover scored a dozen points and Muia added 10 points.
