Mary Ann Young, age 90, of Pender, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, west of Pender, NE. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Pender is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Ann was born on March 28, 1931, in Pender, NE, the daughter of Fred and Marie (Hamann) Puls. Following her graduation from Pender High School, Mary Ann worked at the grocery store. She was later united in marriage to Francis Young. To this union a daughter, Faith was born. Following Francis’s death in 1985, she cleaned houses and took care of many shut-ins. She entered Prairie Breeze Assisted Living in Pender in 2018.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Tim Lienemann; grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew Lienemann of Pierce, NE; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith Lienemann in 2018; husband, Francis Young; parents, Fred and Marie Puls; sisters, Katharine Schlotfeld and Alice Mae Frederickson; brothers, Donald Puls and Fred Puls.
