James A. Pickhinke, age 66, of Elberton, Georgia and Hastings, Nebraska passed away August 31, 2022, in Athens, Georgia. Memorial Service will be on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kracl Funeral Chapel, Schuyler, Nebraska with Rev. Gerry Gonderinger, Officiating. Committal with Military Honors at the Schuyler Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held Friday from noon until time of service. Memorials in care of the family for future designation. Kracl Funeral Chapel of Schuyler in charge of arrangements.
Jim was born August 27, 1956, in Schuyler, Nebraska to Richard and Monica (Tschantre) Pickhinke. He graduated from Schuyler High School and served in the United States Marine Corps and was active with the American Legion. Since 2012, he lived in Elberton, Georgia where he oversaw the maintenance at Camp Harmony and supervised special events. He was also the maintenance supervisor at Bubba Foods. Jim loved fishing, bowling and racing fast cars. He was once a driver but in recent years, just a spectator. He was a hardworking family man and loved to make everyone laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clarita Pickhinke of Hastings, son Joshua Pickhinke and girlfriend Lyndsay Dau, of Bellevue, Siblings Mina (Richard) Will of Omaha NE, Karen (Douglas) Terry of Fremont NE, Barbara (Norman) Sobota of Bartlett TN, Debra (David) Tomcak, Betty (James) Marxsen, all of Schuyler NE, , John (Katherine) Pickhinke of Hamilton TX, Theresa (Kenneth) Vernoy of Wichita KS, Michael (Jackie) Pickhinke, Schuyler and DeAnn (Terry) Silvester of Howells NE. 20 Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Monica Pickhinke (Tschantre), brother Paul and niece Ashley-Pickhinke-Critser
