Veronica Vasquez, age 17, of Schuyler, Nebraska passed away Thursday, September 30th, 2021 at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident in Colfax County. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Schuyler, Nebraska Rev. Gerry Gonderinger, Celebrant. Committal in the Holy Cross Cemetery, rural Schuyler, Nebraska. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. all at the church. Memorials to the Family. Kracl Funeral Chapel of Schuyler in charge of arrangements.
Veronica Rose Vasquez was born April 22, 2004, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Jose L. Vasquez and Elvia M. Ramirez. She was currently a senior at Schuyler Central High School. Veronica worked at Dairy Queen, loved nature and enjoyed taking pictures of sunsets.
Veronica is survived by her parents, Jose Vasquez of Sioux City and Elvia Ramirez of Schuyler, two sisters; YaNellie and Bricia Vasquez, both of Schuyler and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her grandparents also survive her, Bertha and Faustino Ramirez and Andrea and Felipe Vasquez.
Veronica was an organ donor and saved at least five lives with her gift.
