Trailer fire destroys Banner County man’s home

The male resident was not home early Wednesday morning when a fire destroyed a trailer on the southwest side of Harrisburg.

Banner County Fire Chief Tim Grubbs says the older 14″ X 70′ trailer was fully involved when they were called to respond at 4 a.m. Grubbs says firefighters were limited to an external attack and it took the 15 firefighters that responded two hours to extinguish the fire. The trailer and its contents are a total loss.

Grubbs says the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but he is leaning toward an electrical problem.

The man is a local resident and is staying with family. Firefighter Ministries says they assisted the victim.
