Just after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a one vehicle accident that sent the 14 year old driver to the hospital for treatment.
A SUV driven by the teenager was travelling North at a high rate of speed on 560th Avenue, one mile East of Woodland Park when he lost control of the SUV and it entered the west ditch, through a fence into a field striking several trees.
The male was taken by Hoskins/Woodland Park Rescue to FRHS. He was also cited on charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Minor in Possession/Consumption of Alcohol and Misuse of a School Permit.
It was unclear if seat belts were in use at the time.
