Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney/Northwest Missouri State baseball doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, will take place at Memorial Field. The Loper program worked hard on Monday to remove large amounts of snow from Memorial. Due to the recent winter storm, UNK had to play two “home” games this past Sunday at Larks Park in Hays, Kan. First pitch Tuesday is set for 12 p.m. with both games lasting nine innings. The second game is a makeup date for an April 3 contest that was to be held in Maryville, Mo. Back on March 21 at Memorial, the Lopers blasted the Bearcats by a 17-1 (7 innings) score. In the current MIAA standings, UNK (22-16) and Northwest (20-18) are both tied for fourth place with 15-9 league record. Later this week, the Lopers head to fifth place Northeastern State (22-16, 13-12) for a three-game set.
