Tekamah-Herman Junior/Senior Legion split a doubleheader at
Arlington on Thursday, June 7 with the Juniors losing 12-1 in five and the Seniors winning 8-4.
The T-H Juniors struggled to get their offense going in a 12-1 loss
to Arlington in five innings.
Chauncey Rogers took the loss for the Tiger Juniors. Luke Wakehouse & Gavin Enstrom had the lone hits for T-H. Zach Vanak was the winning pitcher for Arlington.
The T-H Seniors claimed an 8-4 victory on Thursday, despite a big push by Arlington in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Nate Olson got the win for Tekamah-Herman, surrending four runs on six hits over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Drew Schmidt threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen, recording the last three outs to earn the save for T-H.
Ryan Arnett took the loss for Arlington.
Johnny Braniff & Drew Schmidt each collected two hits to lead the Tiger Seniors offense. Braniff poled a pair of singles while Schmidt singled & tripled. Schmidt & Nate Olson drove in two runs apiece. Robby Mayberry & Matt Hawkins each drove in one.
Brandon Schram scored three runs for the T-H Seniors. Austin Pickell scored two runs while Schmidt, Luke Wakehouse & Johnny Braniff each scored one run.
Next action for the Tekamah-Herman Juniors is next Friday, June 15 at home against Pierce while the Seniors are next in action on Monday, June 11 at home against Wakefield at 7:00 p.m. for a Seniors-only contest.
