Tekamah-Herman earns split with Pierce

A late rally by Pierce led their Juniors to a 9-6 win at Tekamah-Herman on Friday, June 15.

Seth Valverde earned the win on the mound in relief for Pierce, only allowing one hit in 3.1 innings of work.

Gavin Noel suffered the loss for the Tiger Juniors.

Gavin Enstrom & Garrison Potadle collected two hits apiece to lead the Tiger Juniors’ offense.  Potadle earned 3 RBI’s and scored a run while Enstrom scored a run.  Luke Wakehouse had the only extra-base hit for the Tekamah-Herman Juniors, a 3B that nearly turned into a homer.  Gavin Noel also earned 2 RBI’s.  Clay Beaumont scored two runs.

Logan Moeller led the Pierce Juniors offense with four hits.


The Tekamah-Herman Seniors scored early and often as they steamrolled to a 14-2 win over Pierce in five innings on Friday, June 15.

Drew Schmidt earned the win on the mound for the Tiger Seniors, striking out eight while allowing only four hits and two runs. Logan Kalhoff took the loss for the Pierce Seniors, going 1.2 innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out two.

Matt Hawkins had the hottest bat at the plate for the Tiger Seniors’ offense, going 3-4 with two singles & a double, resulting in a 4-RBI night.  Brandon Schram added a pair of hits, both singles while scoring one and driving in one.

Other Tiger Seniors hitting safely were Nate Olson & Robby Mayberry.  Olson also had 4 RBI’s on the evening, three of them on a bases-clearing single in the second, with Mayberry  nabbing 2 RBI’s.

Dillan Beaumont scored four runs to lead the Tiger Seniors in that department while Schmidt &  Luke Wakehouse each scored three runs.  Schram, Austin Pickell, Max Hansen & Johnny Braniff.

The Tekamah-Herman Juniors & Seniors are in action for two doubleheaders the coming week of June 18-23.  Wednesday, June 20 they travel to Hooper to take on Logan View/Scribner-Snyder in a doubleheader scheduled to air on 107.9 the Bull while Thursday, June 21 they return home to host Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells in a game rescheduled from Wednesday, June 6.  Both doubleheaders are 5:45 pm for Juniors and 8pm for Seniors.
