The postseason for the four area high school soccer teams is fast approaching with subdistrict tournaments starting on Monday.

Last night in North Platte the Lady Bearcats knocked off Grand Island Northwest 2-0. The goals came from Kieyerah Twombly and Madi Barraza as they evened up their record at 5-5.

The Lady Bearcats will host North Platte today in their regular season finale with the JV game at 3 pm and the varsity starting at 5 o’clock at the Landers Complex.

In the boys match last night it was Scottsbluff winning a tight one 1-0.

They’ll play tonight at North Platte to close out the regular season. The JV match will start at 3 o’clock and the varsity a bit later on at six.

As for those postseason subdistrict tournaments, the Girls B-8 Tournament will be at Memorial Stadium in Gering with the Lady Bulldogs the top seed.

Scottsbluff will play Lexington in the play-in game Monday at 4 pm with the winner advancing to play Gering on Tuesday at 5 o’clock. The other semifinal on Tuesday pits 3 seed Kearney Catholic against #2 Holdrege.

On the boys side it was Lexington earning the top seed and home field advantage. Monday’s play-in game has 5 seed Gering up against Holdrege. Winner of that one plays Lexington on Tuesday. The other semfinal match on Tuesday features 2 seed Scottsbluff taking on Kearney Catholic.
