PENDER – Pender hosted Tekamah-Herman in a girls and boys varsity basketball doubleheader heard on 107.9 The Bull on Friday, December 1. In the girls game, Pender exploded for 26 points in the first quarter and went on to take a 34-16 lead at halftime. The Pendragons won the game by a final score of 59-36. Marin Jetensky led Tekamah-Herman with 16 points, with Jadyn Fleischman adding 10. For Pender, Ashley Ostrand scored 19 points, including a trio of three pointers, to go along with 14 points from Faith Morris. The S&W Welding Players of the Game were Jetensky for Tekamah-Herman and Ostrand for Pender. Carson Miller of Pender received the Charter West Sportsmanship Award.
In the boys game, Pender led 34-4 at halftime and went on to win 60-21. Clay Beaumont was the lone player in double digits for the Tigers, scoring 11 points. For the Pendragons, Jordan Springer hit five three pointers and led the way with 17 points and Tyler Nelson had 11. Springer was the S&W Player of the Game for Pender, and Beaumont received both the Player of the Game and the Charter West Sportsmanship Award for Tekamah-Herman.
