FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University head women’s hockey coach Jason White has officially announced the 2018-2019 schedule for the Lady Warriors.
Midland will play a 30-game schedule with 13 games taking place on their home ice at Sidner Ice Arena in Fremont. They will begin their fifth season of competition on September 21 as they host the University of Nebraska-Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. The Warriors are members of the Western Women’s Collegiate Hockey League (WWCHL) and the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).
“We will have 14 games against nationally ranked opponents this season,” Coach White commented. “This will be our toughest schedule in program history. We’ll face a pair of teams that went deep into the ACHA Tournament (Colorado was a semifinalist while Adrian was a finalist). I am really excited about the dynamics of our team this year. We have some great opportunities to compete against the top teams in the nation.”
In addition to their home opener with the Cornhuskers, Midland will host Lindenwood-Bellville, Minnesota, Grand Canyon, Grand Valley State, Minot State, and North Dakota State.
Midland will log plenty of miles this season as they hit the road to five states during the regular season. They will play games in Illinois, Colorado, North Dakota, Michigan and Ohio before heading to Las Vegas, Nevada for the WWCHL Postseason Tournament. The ACHA National Championship Tournament is in Frisco, Texas the last part of March.
