Faber’s 34 Point Effort Earns her BIG EAST Player of the Week Honor

New York, N.Y. — Junior Audrey Faber picked up the BIG EAST Player of the Week honor on Monday, Dec. 4 for the Iowa native’s 34-point effort on Sunday to lift Creighton to a 108-100 win at Drake in quadruple overtime!

The junior scored a career-best 34 points, including 17 in bonus time, eclipsing the 1,000-career point mark, while adding six assists and four rebounds. Faber hit 50 percent of her shots from the field (11-22) and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. No freebies were bigger than the pair that came with one second left in the third overtime as Creighton trailed by two.

Faber’s two free throws sent the game into a fourth extra frame where the Bluejays outscored the Bulldogs 16-8 to clinch the win. Drake entered the contest with the nation’s third longest active home winning streak at 21 games, dating back to February 2016.

Faber and the Bluejays have some well deserved time off before battling Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 1:00 pm in Baxter Arena.
