Briar Cliff Softball signs Pitts
The BC softball program has announced the signing of Hunter Pitts to its 2019-20 recruiting class. Pitts, a St. James, Missouri native, was a four-year starter for the Saint James Tigers and comes to the Cliff after completing a successful high school career.

During her time as a Tiger, Pitts garnered all-state, all-region, all-district, and all-conference honors while also receiving all-tournament honors during her travel ball career.

“Hunter is an all-around exceptional person and a student-athlete,” said head coach Erin Bly. “She truly embodies what I look for to represent our program and institution. When you meet Hunter you’ll be blown away by her athletic abilities, but you’ll be even more impressed by the maturity, work ethic and leadership she brings to a team. She will make a big impact on this program, school and community.”

Pitts chose the Cliff because of the atmosphere and opportunity to make a big impact on the softball program.

“I chose Briar Cliff because I loved the atmosphere of the campus,” Pitts said. “Everyone was incredibly friendly! I felt like I fit in and it wouldn’t be a hard transition. The team and coaches were great.

“My goals at Briar Cliff are to continue to perfect my game and make GPAC All-Conference, as well as see what other honors I can make,” she added. “Most of all, I want to help make my team better and help lead us to success.”

Pitts’ family includes her mom, Shelly, her grandpa, Gary, and her grandma, Bonnie.
