Hershey-Cozad withstood a furious fourth quarter comeback from Hershey on Friday night to down the Pathers 62-57. After Nate Neil hit a three pointer to end the third, Cozad led 46-32. Hershey however came roaring back behind the play of Senior post Jacob Gosnell who scored 12 of his game high 31 points in the final quarter. With less than an a minute to play Cozad’s lead was carved to one. The Haymakers Josh Denny hit four late foul shots and Cozad as a team went 28-40 from the line on the night as they escaped with the victory. Dillon Geiser paced Cozad with 17 points, Denny added 14, Kaden Marhenke had 11 and Freshman Jacob Weatherly was a huge boost off the bench with 10 points. Cozad improves to 3-0 on the season, Hershey is now 2-1.

In the Girls game Hershey jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and coasted in for a 56-31 win. The Haymakers trailed 30-14 at half before getting as close as 32-24 midway through the third. Hershey hurt Cozad with six three pointers and Cozad struggle to handle the Panthers full court pressure. Tyra Otzel led all scores with 13 points for Hershey. Brenna Dugan scored 11
for Cozad who is now 0-4, Hershey improved to 4-0. Cozad will host Valentine on Saturday.  Click here for the podcast.
