Gothenburg, Neb. — The YMCA at Gothenburg Health had its coming out party Friday afternoon with a ribbon cutting.
As president of the board of directors of the new YMCA at Gothenburg Health, Mark Peyton said he’s blown away by the building…
Mark Peyton: “It’s fantasic…it is great…I kind of wish I was young and playing basketball again and running on that track upstairs instead of walking on it. And I can’t wait to hit the pool. I think it’s going to be a tremendous asset to the community as a whole. I think a lot of people are going to get involved in it..and it’s really going to go toward our main goal…and that is wellness.”
State Sen. Matt Williams was the featured speaker for the new YMCA at Gothenburg Health’s grand opening. Williams believes strongly in collaboration to get things done….
The new $5 million facility is loaded with health-enhancing amenities: four-lane pool, full-court gym and an upstairs running track, available exercise classrooms, physical therapy space and other spaces for exercise.
Gothenburg is the smallest town in the United States to have a YMCA.
