The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing West Nebraska Division in Scottsbluff hosted its third annual summer camp Wednesday and Thursday.

Fifteen high school students were on campus as part of a $665,266 grant to develop mentorship programs for high school students through all five of UNMC’s nursing divisions.

The “Nebraska Generation Link to Learn” grant is funded by the U.S. Health Resource Services Administration and includes mentorship, scholarship and clinical activities, connecting high school students to nursing students and registered nurses throughout the school year.

Faculty, staff and students will share information about the nursing profession and the health professions through a variety of presentations and hands-on activities at the Harms Center, along with informational tours of the Airlink Helicopter and Valley Ambulance operations.
