Storms produces hail, heavy rain in Morrill, Banner, and Cheyenne counties

Residents in some of the rural areas south of the Wildcat Hills received heavy rain and hail from a storm Wednesday afternoon.

Dorothy Monasmith, who lives a quarter mile west of Reddington, said she received a quick inch and a half of rain and hail that covered the ground.

Monasmith said it was unusual that the storm did not pack any high winds.  The storm was stationary or moving very slow  after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

1″ of rain in fifteen minutes, half inch hail  and strong  wind gusts were   reported by a spotter five miles northwest of Harrisburg from a storm that was still moving through the areas shortly before 3:30 .  Also a report of quarter to half dollar hail  five miles north of Dalton near the Morrill-Cheyenne County line shortly before 3 p.m.
