The scoreboard at Oregon Trail Park Stadium is being installed, marking the fact that the Western Nebraska Pioneers season is not far away.

Team owner Chuck Heeman says it is one of the things that shows the season is “only a month out and I like the progress.”

Daktronics out of Brookings, South Dakota has the contract for the scoreboard and their installation team should be done Thursday barring any weather concerns.

Heeman says they are still looking for some host families for players, and there are some sponsorships available. If a business or individual is interested in naming rights for the field, you should contact the city of Gering.
