Northeast Community College in Norfolk to offer classes in July

Northeast Community Community College in Norfolk is offering some classes in early July. Class information can be found below:

NORFOLK – Northeast Community College will offer a redesigned auto body theory course and lab soon that provides students the opportunity to learn and adopt methods to restore vehicles.

Basic Auto Body Theory I and Lab (AUTB 2055/2065/17B & CRN #30355/30357) will be held Saturdays, July 7-28, from 7 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Weller Building, Rooms #123/125 on the Norfolk campus.

Topics in this one-credit course include panel adjustment, rust repair, dent repair, sheet metal replacement, priming, sanding, painting and buffing.

Participants must sign up for both the theory and lab classes. Cost of the course, with Joe Barg the instructor, is $113.50.

NORFOLK – Northeast Community College will be hosting courses on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign in July.

Adobe InDesign (ARTS 5175/18F & CRN #60003) will meet Monday through Friday, July 9-13, from 6-10p.m. in the Maclay Building Room 120 on the Norfolk campus.

This Adobe InDesign training course teaches students how to use the powerful print layout software to create printed materials such as brochures, newsletters, ads, business cards, book and more. They will learn essential application processes, basic design principles, and professional practices that will provide a functional knowledge and foundation for advanced graphic design coursework. Participants will need to bring a flash drive with a minimum capacity of four gigabytes with them to class.

Adobe Photoshop (ARTS 5170/18F & CRN #60004) will be held Monday through Friday, July 16-20, from 6-10 p.m. in Room 120 of the Maclay Building on the Norfolk campus.

In this Adobe Photoshop training, students will learn how to use the world’s most popular graphics and photo editing software. They will learn essential application processes, basic digital image color correction, editing and manipulation principles and professional practices that will provide a functional knowledge and foundation for advanced graphic design coursework. Participants will need to bring a flash drive with a minimum capacity of four gigabytes with them to class.

Phil Schimonitz is the instructor for both classes. Cost of each course is $200.

NORFOLK – A fluid painting class for kids ages 9-13 is coming to Northeast Community College in July.

Fluid Painting (Ages 9-13) (ARTS 5163/18S & CRN #60055) will meet Tuesday, July 10, from 6-8 p.m. in Room 105A of the Weller Building on the Norfolk campus.

In this class, students will learn about color theory and the color wheel as they create three fluid painting masterpieces on canvas. By mixing colors in a cup, participants will discover beautiful colors to create their paintings.

Supplies will be provided and are included in the cost of the course. Cost of the class, with Elley Coffin the instructor, is $35.
