The Scottsbluff Family YMCA Board of Directors has announced they have hired Conrad Bostron as their new Executive Director.
Bostron will take over for Gordon Schaub- who has been serving as interim Executive Director- on July 10.
Bostron has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Alexandria Area YMCA in Alexandria, Minnesota since 2014. In that capacity, Bostron is responsible for complete corporate management of the multi-faceted YMCA, including the largest child care center in the region.
A former resident of western Nebraska, Bostron has established the Alexandria Area YMCA as the premier community center for youth and family programs, while consistently exceeding budget projections in all areas of operation.
“We are pleased to welcome Conrad and his wife Donna back to the Panhandle,” said Dr. Todd Holcomb, YMCA board president. “He brings a wealth of executive-level experience and Christian values to the Y.”
From 2002 to 2014, Bostron held several board and committee leadership positions with the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA in Willmar, Minnesota, including two terms as board chair.
A native of Lakewood, Colorado, Bostron is a graduate of the University of Wyoming where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics. Upon graduation, Conrad farmed and raised livestock near Alliance, Nebraska, where he met and married his wife Donna. Together, they farmed for several years, after which he pursued an extensive career in the management of agricultural supply cooperatives in Alliance, Montana, and Minnesota.
“I feel greatly honored to have been selected as the chief executive for such an outstanding YMCA,” said Bostron. “I look forward to helping serve the communities in and around Scottsbluff through the programs of the YMCA that promote and foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.”
