A 50-year-old Scottsbluff man has been arrested on a variety of charges after allegedly performing a lewd sex act at a Gering restaurant.
On Monday, Gering officers received a report from a customer about an incident involving George Camacho. Police were able to track down Camacho- who had left on a bicycle- and interview him.
Court documents say that Camacho was at the restaurant alone in a booth, and customers saw him perform a lewd sex act while he was in the booth. The reporting party said that when she was away from their table, Camacho went to her 13-year-old daughter, sat down and said something to the girl. At that point, the mother came back over and told Camacho to leave.
After their investigation, Gering officers arrested Camacho on the charges of: Child Abuse, Disturbing the Peace, and Indecent Exposure.
County Attorney Dave Eubanks tells KNEB News he is also going to charge him with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. In 2016, Camacho was convicted of 3rd Degree Sexual Assault without Consent. As terms of the sentencing he was supposed to register as a sex offender, but never did.
Camacho is slated to make his first appearance on the charges on Wednesday in Scotts Bluff County Court.
