A July 31st trial date has been set for former Scottsbluff golf coach Mike Klein, who is accused of sexually assaulting two separate members from the golf team.
The date was set Monday by District Judge Leo Dobrovolny after he denied a request from Klein’s counsel for a second continuance. Attorney Tyler Petitt wanted more time to prepare including the taking of additional depositions. The trial had been delayed from May the first time.
Klein is charged with 20 sexual assault charges stemming from a four-month long investigation by the Scottsbluff Police Department.
A July 17th pre-trial hearing was set and Klein remains free on $30,000 cash bond.
