Kearney Public Schools has hired  Ryan Hogue from Broken Bow Public Schools as Kearney High School Assistant Principal and Activities Director. Hogue is currently the Assistant Principal and Activities Director in Broken Bow. “Ryan brings a wealth of experience leading and managing the activities and athletics department while serving as an Assistant Principal/AD at Broken Bow High School,” said Dr. Chris Loofe, new KHS Principal. “He is a great listener and communicator, is extremely hard-working and very approachable. We are excited about the leadership, service, and commitment to excellence that he will provide our community.”

“I am excited for this tremendous opportunity to join the Kearney Public Schools learning community,” said Hogue. “I look forward to all the great things ahead of us and the opportunity to serve our students and staff at Kearney High School, as well as the community of Kearney.” Before serving as AD and Assistant Principal at Broken Bow, Hogue served as Broken Bow District Technology Supervisor, Administrative Student Supervisor, Administrative Teacher Evaluator and Administrative Activity Sponsor/Coaching Supervisor.

His first teaching position was in Deshler, where he served as Social Science and PE instructor, Activities Director, Head Boys Basketball Coach, Head Volleyball Coach, Assistant Girls/Boys Track Coach and Assistant Football Coach. “Ryan comes to us with great administrative experience, leading both student activities and an athletic program,” stated Dr. Kent Edwards, KPS Superintendent. “He has an excellent understanding of how to develop a strong community culture and will help us meet our school priorities and work our strategic plans.” Hogue brings his wife, Jenny, a pharmacist and a 13-month old daughter, Addison. He loves to golf, hunt, spend time with his family, and cheer on the Huskers. “My wife and I have always enjoyed visiting Kearney and look forward to joining the community,” said Hogue.

Hogue will replace Mitchell Stine who has moved positions to KHS Dean of Students.  Hogue is a Certified Athletic Administrator; a certification received from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) where he has served on the Board for the past eight years. He has a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Doane College in Lincoln (2008), a Bachelor of Science degree in PE and Social Sciences from Peru State College and has endorsements in Coaching and Drivers Education. He is currently working toward his Educational Specialist Degree at Doane.
