A 47-year-old Gering man will be sentenced for a conviction of possession of child pornography.
Sean Gudgel entered a guilty or no contest plea Wednesday following an investigation that began last August.
The Nebraska State Patrol began the investigation after finding an explicit photo of a minor was uploaded from an IP address in Gering. They went to the home and talked to resident Sean Gudgel, who gave consent for authorities to search his computer.
During the search, they found 411 images in a folder on his laptop, and approximately half of them were child pornography. They also found closed chat-rooms that deal specifically with underage children.
Gudgel could receive up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced.
