The four finalists for Scottsbluff Fire Chief are scheduled to arrive Friday morning to take a written exam at 8 a.m. and for follow-up interviews.
Current Scottsbluff Fire Captains Justin Houstoun and Ryan Lohr- as well as Thomas Schingle of Cheyenne and Jeffrey Raffray of Monroe, Louisiana- will be testing for the Fire Chief Position.
A maximum of 75 points is possible on the written exam that will taken at the Public Safety Building. The oral interviews, to be conducted by two interview panels, will take place at City Hall. Scores from the oral exam and the two interviews will be tabulated and averaged for an overall score and rating.
The city’s Civil Service Commission will then meet June 12th to certify a Fire Chief list. Once that is done City Manager Nathan Johnson will make a decision on hiring one of the candidates. Appointment is subject to the successful completion of a physical examination, psychological test, pre-employment drug screening, and background check.
