Five Injured In Stanton County Crash

At about 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to and investigated a three vehicle injury accident on Hwy 24 about 6 miles west of Stanton that sent five people to the hospital for treatment of various injuries.

The accident occurred when an east bound car driven by Jesse Suckstorf, 24, of Norfolk struck the rear of a slowing eastbound van that was going to turn off the highway, driven by Heather Thompson, 39, of rural Norfolk and then collided head-on with a westbound car driven by Brenden Loughman, 23, of Stanton.

All three drivers were taken to FRHS by Stanton and Norfolk rescue units and two children in the van were also taken to FRHS.

All three vehicles were considered to be total losses and seatbelts were only in use in the van.

The highway was blocked for about an hour and half as the scene was investigated and cleared.
