Hot & dry conditions a big concern

Hot & dry conditions a big concern
RRN/Tinder dry conditions are causing grass fires like this one that was burning Tuesday morning east of the Odessa Interstate 80 Interchange, north of the westbound lanes.

The weather forecast calls for hot and humid conditions for the next several days with  some hit and miss chances for thunderstorms.  A heat advisory is in effect for Tuesday afternoon and evening along and south of Interstate-80 for Heat Index readings to 105 or higher. The extremely hot and dry weather is also raising concern for rural fire departments who are responding to  grass fires.
