A Casper man who was charged in the February, 2016 robbery of the Scottsbluff Safeway pharmacy has had his case dismissed.

28-year-old Eric Leach was arrested in September of 2017 on charges of Robbery and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Police believed he was the man who hopped the counter at the pharmacy and demanded fentanyl and ADHD pills from the safe.

Leach was developed as a suspect after a Casper Police Department detective interviewed his sister, and told authorities that her brother Eric was the one who had robbed the Scottsbluff pharmacy.

The trial was scheduled to begin later this spring, but Scotts Bluff County Attorney Dave Eubanks filed a motion on Tuesday to dismiss the case with prejudice due to insufficient evidence to obtain a conviction.

Dismissing the case with prejudice means it is a final determination and the case cannot be filed again.
