Alcohol Inspections Held in Dawson County

NOVEMBER 1, 2018 (NORTH PLATTE, NEB.)  — During the evening hours of Friday, October 26, investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol conducted alcohol inspections in Dawson County.

This project was supported in whole or part by Grant #93.959 under the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Region II Human Services, and the Nebraska DHHS Division of Behavioral Health.

In total, ten businesses were inspected. Two businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 20 percent. Only one of the businesses inspected failed to check the minor’s ID. The businesses included liquor stores, convenience stores, bowling alleys, restaurants, and bars.

The businesses which failed the inspections were:

Drunkin Buzzard – Eddyville (Sold to minor, checked ID)

Casey’s General Store #1747 – Lexington (Sold to minor, did not check ID)

Businesses which fail the inspections are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
